Frequently asked questions
Answers about the components, plans, licence and this website.
Galvo and previews
What is Galvo?
Galvo is a collection of React Native Skia effects, components and games for developers. Some components are free; the rest of the collection is included in the paid plans. Browse the components in the catalog.
Can I try a component in the browser?
Yes. Each free component's page has a live demo.
How can I see a paid component?
Its page shows a preview video and a build note on how it is made. Paid components have no live demo.
Are the games available?
Not yet. The games are listed on the home page, but none can be previewed, downloaded or bought yet.
Plans and buying
Can I buy a plan now?
Not yet. Purchases are not open, so the prices on the Pricing page are for reference only.
What does each plan include?
Free components use the MIT licence. Standard includes the paid components and game source. Supporter includes everything in Standard, plus docs, AI agent skills and additional notes. It also includes Cortex, a searchable guide to the catalog and games you receive. Your AI agent can use it to find short answers with source references.
Paid plans are delivered as read access to private GitHub repositories: Standard gets one, and Supporter gets a second one with the extras.
How do monthly, yearly and lifetime plans work?
Standard and Supporter can be paid monthly, or yearly in one payment that costs less than twelve monthly ones. Lifetime is Supporter for one payment, with no renewal; Standard has no lifetime option. Upgrading from Standard to Supporter charges only the prorated difference.
Is there a plan for teams?
Team licences are one-time Supporter lifetime purchases for up to 5, 10 or 100 people. There are no monthly or yearly team plans. Their prices are on the Pricing page.
What happens when I cancel a subscription?
To cancel a subscription, use the payment provider's customer page linked in your receipt email, or contact support@galvo.dev.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Access, including repository access, continues to the end of the period already paid for, which on a yearly plan is the whole year.
After that you keep the right to use the code you received, including in new apps, but updates and new items stop. A subscription ending never removes what a lifetime purchase covers.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. A purchase is fully refundable for 14 days after you buy, as long as its GitHub repository invitation has not been accepted. After you accept it, there is no refund except where the law requires one.
Renewal charges are not refundable, so cancel before the renewal date if you do not want the next period. To ask for a refund, write to support@galvo.dev. The Terms have the details.
Licence and use
What can I build with a paid plan?
The Galvo Licence lets you use and change the code in any number of apps and websites for yourself, your business or your clients, and sell those apps, including in app stores.
A licence covers one person, so contractors and freelancers working for you need their own licence or a team licence. The full text is on the Licence page.
What does the Galvo Licence not allow?
The licence does not allow sharing, reselling or publishing the code except as part of a finished app, or using it to build or train a competing product such as a template, starter kit, component library or AI tool that generates apps or code.
Publish apps under your own developer account, changed enough to be your own product. Supporter extras are for your own use, or your team's under a team licence, and cannot be shared or resold.
The site and privacy
Does the site use accounts or tracking?
No. The site has no accounts or sign-in, no checkout, no contact or newsletter form, and no analytics or advertising trackers. The Privacy page has the details.
How can I contact Galvo?
Write to support@galvo.dev about plans, purchases, refunds, repository access or this website. For team licences, write to licensing@galvo.dev. Both addresses are on the Contact page.
Setting a project up? The docs cover running a project and adding an item to your app.
